Glue closure system for varicose veins2

Intracavitary glue closure therapy for varicose veins of the lower extremities is a special catheter inserted into the great saphenous vein of the leg through venipuncture. Pass the catheter into the affected vein segment under ultrasound guidance. Then, when pulling the catheter along the vein, the doctor uses a specialized delivery system to push a small amount of n-butyl 2-cyanoacrylate (n-BCA) adhesive into the damaged vein. After the adhesive is applied, gentle pressure is applied to ensure that the vein is closed. The adhesive is a formulation based on n-butyl 2-cyanoacrylate (n-BCA). It is a transparent, free-flowing liquid that is sterile after exposure to dry heat. The adhesive polymerizes in blood vessels through an anionic mechanism. This acute joint will prevent blood flow through the insufficient vein until the implanted adhesive is encapsulated by fibrosis to establish a long-lasting, chronic occlusion of the treated vein.

Product advantages

-Clinical data shows that the 5-year closure rate is above 96%;

-Minimally invasive treatment, the window is smaller than rice grains;

-There is no need to inject swelling anesthetics, which reduces the pain of the patient and reduces the difficulty of the doctor's operation;

-Quick recovery, can return to normal life immediately after operation;

-Avoid skin surface burns caused by thermal ablation;

-Day surgery, the operation can be completed without an operating room;

-There is no need to wear elastic stockings after surgery, which greatly improves the quality of life of patients.

Use risk

Although intracavitary glue closure therapy for varicose veins of the lower extremities is very safe, there is no risk without any medical procedure. After the operation, the patient may experience some bruising, tenderness and swelling. This should resolve itself within a few days or weeks. The adhesive is designed to be flexible to reduce stiffness and traction on veins after treatment. However, with intracavitary glue closure for varicose veins of the lower extremities, you may still feel stiffness or pulling sensation in the treated area. In some patients, hyperpigmentation or darkening of the veins or skin of the treatment area may also appear. The risk of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), allergic reactions, or phlebitis (inflammation of the veins) with a risk of less than 1% is small.

When you decide your treatment plan and before treatment, your United Venous Center doctor will discuss with you any other risks caused by your personal health.
